: magnetic behavior characteristic of certain feebly magnetic substances (as manganese monoxide and chromium sesquioxide) thought to have two oppositely directed electron spins not quite neutralizing each other with the result that the magnetic susceptibility at first increases and then decreases as the substance is heated
